re-planting of Block 4.

I did put in application for a Level 1 replanting this morning. We should get the permit in a few weeks.

After our Wednesday meeting, I did call Sonoma Ag and was directed to Ben of the Vesco team which is in charge of Vineyard & Orchard Site Development and Agricultural Grading & Drainage. I stopped at the office on our way back down to the site to pick up the application.  At the bottom of the Vesco web page there is a link to VESCO-Cannabis Site Suitability Mapping Tool.

The difference between a Level 1 and a Level 2 application depends on slope percentage.  For work on slopes greater than 30%, one would need a Level 2, which could require outside engineers consultants and greater expense.   Therefore, if we wanted to re-plant on the steep western slope, we would need Level 2.

Level 1, a Low Impact Vineyard Replant :

A No deep ripping may take place

B Vines may be pulled by hand or mechanical means with minimal soil disturbance

C End Post and trellising must remain in place

D Vineyard roads and avenues must not be altered

E Drainage infrastructure must not be altered

I did do a Permit Search on the parcel, but the only one seemed to be 2006 for this parcel (plus adjoining lot 15) to be registered for Williamson Act

If granted the Permit is good for 5 years and a 5-year extension is allowed if one does not know what one will re-plant to.  The cost was $1362-
